Sadly knetworkmanager fails to connect to eduroam style networks (WPA2 Professional), 
whereas nm-applet works perfectly using the same settings. .                          

this problem is really annoying as it renders network-manager nearly unusable for students...

I'm a bit scared why nobody else is worried about this issue.. (or better: why nobody else has created
this bug report, as this problems is obviously known according to google)
