I'm sorry, but "does not work for me so do not ship it" is not the way to go. 
network-manager-kde or its plasma widget will work fine for many people with 
less advanced needs.

What's more, there is no need to provide any workaround. Just install network-
manager-gnome if it works better for you. Nothing keeps you from doing it.
