[Pkg-kde-extras] need little help on vnc or remote desktop

Hi All,

 

I am new in installing the system on myself. It went quite smooth. Now I
have the system running and configured static ip within one day. But I
cannot figure out how to setup the remote desktop since there are many
choices available. I have tried vnc4server. It works with connection from
client on window xp with tightVNC viewer. I can even connect within local
subnet and see the splash screen. Then it follows with a totally black
screen. I am clueless on how to fix this and do not know what is the right
solution to set this up. What I want to achieve is to be able remotely
connect into the machine from outside and run the virtual desktop from
either vnc viewer or browser. If you know a solution, please give me some
hint.
