This training programme will reinforce participants' existing corporate credit analysis skills through the use of a structured framework for the qualitative and quantitative aspects of corporate credit analysis, covering the following topics
Qualitative risk analysis - assessing macroeconomic, regulatory and political influences
Qualitative risk analysis - evaluating a business and how it creates value, management strategy and corporate governance issues
Looking at market indicators such as bond and equity pricing as a basis for identifying mismatches between those indicators and reported financial performance
Evaluation of past financial performance, the need for potential adjustments to reported financial performance and identification of possible areas of accounting manipulation
Cashflow analysis - assessing the operating cycle, capital expenditure needs and priorities of cashflows
Debt servicing capacity, including liquidity analysis and the structure of debt in terms of liquidity, security, financial covenants and other terms and conditions of debt instruments that could affect debt servicing capacity
Assumptions about future financial performance and assessing the impact of changes in operating and financial assumptions on credit risk
Risk and return and implications of Basle 3
