I have the same problem but the error message is different:

| GREPME MySQLe query failed! (2000) Fatal error: Can't open and lock
| privilege tables: Can't find file: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql/host.frm'
| (errno: 13) on init

The file exists, but the directory is only accessible for the mysql
user. I wonder why mysqle needs it, though.
