 This PSM course offers a comprehensive overview of the international PSM programs which is rarely available in Asia. 

 

Trainer , PE, CEM. Mr. S has 28 years of engineering and consulting experience in process safety, mechanical integrity, and energy and environmental engineering for the oil and gas, chemical, electric power, and manufacturing industries. He worked for 15 years in the United States where he was responsible for process safety studies for many major companies including BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips and etc……

Real world lessons and recent PSM incidents, several landmark reports have been issued to highlight strategies for successful PSM implementation will be and discussed based on the presenter’s experience working throughout Asia and the United States. 

 

Objectives of this PSM Course are to:

-          Provide to the participants with an understanding the role of PSM in managing the risks of an oil and gas, chemical, and manufacturing company which handle flammable or toxic materials or operates processes under high temperatures or pressures;

 

-          Explain the regulatory framework for PSM around the world, including the USA, the UK, Australia, and Malaysia;

 

-          Appreciate the scope of program elements that constitute a comprehensive PSM program and to explain the interaction of other safety, environmental, and quality programs with PSM program elements; 

 

-          Develop an appreciation of the technical requirements in key PSM program elements including process hazard analysis, mechanical integrity, pre-start-up safety reviews, operating procedures, and management of change;

 

-          Consider real world PSM implementation issues including securing executive management support, developing technical resources, planning program implementation stages, and evaluating PSM program successes through the use of Key Performance Indicators and auditing.
