      another work around.<br>

      In Settings - Configure Kile - Latex - General, deselect
      "Automatically insert opening and closing double quotes for LaTex<br>
      <br>
      Then, further down the Configure list, go to Extensions. Select
      AutoBrace and click on the settings block to the right, in the
      pop-up window, deselect "Automatically add closing quotation
      marks"<br>
      <br>
