Hello,

I've been working on a few KDE 3.4 Beta 2 packages (using Daniel=20
Schepler's packages as a starting point), partly to gain experience with=20
CDBS, which may serve as the foundation for a repackaging of KDE, and=20
partly just to play with KDE 3.4. I now quite like CDBS.

Anyway, I've uploaded my work thus far to SVN (no -commits message yet,=20
but it's there...), under people/chrsmrtn/3.4-experimental. It's very=20
incomplete, obviously, and there are a number of problems to note:=20
updating kdelibs causes (3.3.x) kmail to segfault, kdm now restarts=20
itself immediately on package upgrade, and kdebase depends on a=20
qt-enabled version of dbus available at luon.net/~sjoerd/dbus. But what I=20
have does seem to work fairly well, though I've tried to take out of the=20
packaging all that I didn't think was absolutely necessary, so I may have=20
removed still-needed build-depends, config options, etc.

Anyway, hopefully this will be useful to people. I myself will be largely=20
absent until the beginning of March, since in two weeks I'm getting=20
married, and then will be on vacation. Until then, I have a civil service=20
exam that I need to write, so I'll be extremely busy. I'll still try to=20
check mail, answer questions, etc. for the next week and a half, so don't=20
hesitate to contact me, but after that I'll be completely gone until=20
March. Hopefully Sarge will be out when I get back :) In any case, I=20
should be around when KDE 3.4 releases.
