  Before we move this to trunk, we should do some careful testing
  related to this:

  Reading a bit the following code, it seems like what makes a difference
  is it being enabled or not, and not whether it's built in or a plugin.
  But we'll have to check anyway; I'll put a note in your changelog now
  if you don't mind.
