Well, my preference is depending on how long a) would take you... if
it's only a couple of days, then I'll certainly wait until you took a
look at the patch. If not, then I would prefer to go ahead with b).
I actually already looked quickly at b) and have 3 questions about it:
1) after changing changelog and control file to reflect the new
libmeanwhile0-dev package, can I just rename /usr/lib/libmeanwhile.(l)a
to /usr/lib/libmeanwhile0.(l)a in the libmeanwhile0-dev package?
2) the symbolic link /usr/lib/libmeanwhile.so is in both
libmeanwhile-dev (the new version) as in libmeanwhile0-dev, should I
delete it from libmeanwhile0-dev?
3) any replaces/provides required for any of the packages?
