Hi!

There are three points in this mail
1) mounting issue
2) non-free icons
3) artwork


1)
as discussed on irc, there has been some issues with mounting/umounting.
 MoDaX seems to have created a patch to fix the final stuff with mounting
 under these conditions:

$ grep cdrom /etc/fstab
/dev/cdrom      /cdrom          iso9660 ro,user,noauto          0       0

$ ls -la /dev/cdrom
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2006-10-18 23:03 /dev/cdrom -> hdc

There is still one issue left here ; The popup about media busy does pop up
 in the background.

I have tested it a bit and it seems to work, but I haven't done any thoroghly
testing. I don't know if it is too much just to include as a 'vendor patch'

2)
There has also been reported a RC bug against kdebase because of non-free
icons.

I have combined the patch from MoDaX with a fix for the RC bug in the
 downloadable patch combined with the tarball located at :

 This includes a new 98_builprep.diff - I
hope I have created it correctly. It is currently building in my pbuilder.

3)
There is some remaining issues that would be nice to be taken care of. (I
don't know if it is done already)
1) Make it possible for the desktop-base package to add a default ksplash
2) Make it possible for the desktop-base package to add a default kdm theme
3) .... default wallpaper.
