  FWIW /dev/ptmx may not be enough, you may need the devpts pseudo FS
that isn't always loop-mounted, and that behaves oddly when it does
anyways. At least that's my experience, and I've always tried to kept
myself as far as possible from terminal technologies, pseudo or real
ones ;)
