Hi,<br><br>As many people know, Phonon will be included in the upcoming Qt4.4.0 as their multimedia framework.<br>They share the framework with KDE4 and the source code is in KDE repository.<br><br>I plan to move phonon outside of kdelibs and phonon backend plugins outside of kdebase-runtime.
<br>The idea is to make available Phonon to pure Qt programs&nbsp; and developers.<br><br>At least 3 packages are needed:<br>* libphonon - runtime library<br>* libphonon-dev - development files (includes, etc...)<br>* phonon-backends - phonon backends plugins (xine and gstreamer)
<br><br><br>This is a draft to have a starting point of discussion to receive feedbacks from the involved maintainers.<br><br>From a planning point of view, I would like to split before KDE 4.0 release.<br><br><br>cheers,
