-Werror=cast-align setted by default?

Hi! I'm one of Qt maintainers and I'm contacting you because of the FTBFS of 
qtsvg-opensource-src [0]

As it can be seen in the above web page qtsvg started to FTBFS in version 
5.1.1-3, but succeeded to build on previous versions. Comparing the build logs 
it seems that -Werror=cast-align was somehow added to the build, but 
definitely not by us.

Is this something that can be avoided somehow?
