OK.  I can't wait any longer, so I've pushed your digikam conversion (thanks!) 
to the Debian group on Salsa.

As mentioned, the digikam conversion is no longer required.  Additionally, 
there are three other digikam-* repositories that are positively ancient: no 
updates for 9+ years.  IMHO there is little value in moving these.
