This makes sense to me.
So to sum up:
- new stuff (present in sid) should be migrated and deleted from Alioth;
- old stuff (but still present in stable or oldstable) can be left on Alioth
and archived.
- *very* old stuff can be deleted from Alioth to reduce the archive size.
