Do you mean storing sources in git? If that's so then I still prefer keeping
just debian in our repos, seems much cleaner to me, and I don't need to depend
on "magic" tools like gbp and friends. And less disk usage at the end of the
day too.
But of course, nothing is written in stone. I would love to find the other
reasons we have been keeping this like this... but if it's written somewhere I
forgot to mention it.

Coordinating some kind of documentation would be just fine I think. www used
to be the normal place IIRC. I'll note this down in the agenda.
