Amarok is basically unmaintained upstream.
The last stable release was done two years ago, and it was Qt4-based.
Having an active amarok upstream and stabilizes and releases amarok
might help, however to this date this is not happening.

Unless you can actually do coding and help the amarok project that way,
there is nothing much that can be done.

Personal suggestion: switch to a different, possibly actively
maintained, media player for your daily usage.
