Like already said kf5 is probably not going away.
It still sounds like a good idea to get the Qt6 version ready. Less and less maintenance is going into the Qt5/KF5 stscks anyway.

Best would be to submit an MR against the Salsa repo I guess ?
The package is currently under the Debian Science Team's maintainership bit I'll try giving it a look.
