Hi,

I'm still interested to know if that bugs is still reproducible. If so, here 
are my pointers: 

Is there an automounter active ?

Typical symptoms of autmounter problems on Linux
are:
- CD burns fail sometimes. Never with DVD+RW.
- Tray loading by the burn program increases
  failure probability.
- Killing the automounter makes the problem
  vanish.
