This asks for lots of dependencies on the host. To avoid that I plan to
make the appliance downloadable. It will also be possible to drop the
appliance directly into the local fs for cases without network
connection (and possibly to build the appliance via a script as you
suggested).
There's no shortage of technical solutions in this case it's more a lack
of time that keeps libguestfs out of Debian. If somebody wants to work
on anything like this, the sources are all here:
