Checked out, "backported" to lenny and tested now - some issues:

- first, it took me a while to remember that virt-manager likes to be
run as root.
(it _should_ probably work somehow via network without being root -
but even though I enabled all possible network protocols in xend
config and restarted, nothing worked but connecting via unix socket as
root)
- even then, I couldn't get anything running - both types of VM's,.
paravirtual and fully virtual did not go further after configuring a
disk(image) and hitting the "forward" button
- in paravirtual mode, there are question about kickstart files and
installation media url's which do look like redhat-specific.

I know, virt-manager is quite redhat specific in these areas, and it
might need some work to get it going - so I don't want to blame you -
but ask if I might have overseen something that I can do to make it
work...

Henning
