Have you properly tried net-create, or net-define?
The latter works as expected; I clearly said it's "net-create" though which
does not work and that's also what is listed in the output I sent.

Bug submitted upstream at the URL above; there's a patch to 0.7.0 there.
Attached is a patch for 0.4.6 (lenny version).
