Sounds good. Right now i'm only maintaining 2 packages with dead
upstream hence i only have to fix something from time to time.
Working on a bigger and more active package sounds like a good
challenge :)
Lets see what kind of modification you have made against that
unstable/testing package to get a basic understanding of that
process. From my point of view it's always easier to just fetch
latest upstream package and get it working with the available
dependencies in stable but i agree that this is not debian compliant.
