Looking around I found the (not very helpful to me)

and after more research https://libvirt.org/cgroups.html
which led me to try something:
– sudoedit /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf
- add: cgroup_controllers = [ ] (just removing cpuset from the
default set is not enough)
- stop and start /etc/init.d/libvirtd
Voilà:
tglase at tglase:~ $ wirrsh start MirBSD
Domain MirBSD started
