Bug#718637: libc++-dev: improper alternative handling in M-A:same package

Package: libc++-dev
Version: 1.0~svn181765-1
Severity: serious
User: multiarch-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: multiarch

Hi,

libc++-dev is marked Multi-Arch: same, but it does not handle the
alternative properly, see the following sequence

  apt-get install libc++-dev:amd64
  # registers the alternative

  apt-get install libc++-dev:i386
  # registers the alternative again, which is a no-op

  apt-get remove libc++-dev:i386
  # removes the alternative even though libc++-dev:amd64 is still
  # installed

>From the attached log (scroll to the end):

0m35.7s ERROR: FAIL: After purging files have disappeared:
  /etc/alternatives/c++ -> /usr/bin/clang++-libc++       not owned
  /usr/bin/c++ -> /etc/alternatives/c++  not owned

Cheers,

Andreas
