I am dealing with complexities that go over my head,
and that I will have a hard time reducing to a minimum test case. :/

I was trying to compile performance tests there
https://github.com/ROCm-Developer-Tools/HIP/tree/develop/tests
with the llvm that you packaged and not the llvm packaged by AMD.
https://github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/llvm-project
This ROCm is a can of worms beware.
