[pkg-lua-devel] Possible ITP: lua-udev (bindings for libudev)

(Enrico, pkg-lua-devel looks to be nothing but spammers and you look to
be the main man behind the lua these days so I hope you don't mind the
cc)

Hi,

I'm the maintainer of qcontrol (a management tool for the baseboard
controller QNAP NAS boxes) which uses LUA as its configuration
mechanism.

As part of a proper fix for #781886 I'm thinking I might want to use the
lua-udev bindings from https://github.com/dodo/lua-udev/. In short, I
want to use the udev monitor functionality to trigger some lua code when
a device shows up.

I've already got a semi working package[0] but my concern is that I
haven't yet done much looking at #781886 to see if the approach I'm
considering (i.e. doing it all/mostly in lua) is actually going to work
or if I'll need to do it in the C part of qcontrol.

Basically I don't want to upload the package and then end up abandoning
it if I find I don't actually need it, but I also don't want to sit on
the package while I figure that out.

The package looks like it will be pretty low maintenance (thanks to
dh-lua), perhaps you would be willing to comaintain to hedge against my
possible lack of long term interest? I'd even be quite happy just to
hand it over completely if you are happy to take it on.

Cheers,
Ian.

_Very_ WIP, needs a proper debian/copyright and descriptions in
debian/control at the very least, I also need to upstream some fixes I
made along the way.
