This is fixed upstream in https://github.com/lxc/lxc/issues/609 and available in Debian since LXC 2.0.

If you do not want to upgrade to LXC 2.0 yet, the patch is trivial:
 https://github.com/lxc/lxc/commit/e00f9e4e7ab5a76cfd4068e09579f9f471666a90

We might include it in a stable update, but won't promise it :)
