One thing I wonder, though: how do you two end up with an empty /var/lib/lxcfs/cgroup/?
When lxcfs is not running, /var/lib/lxcfs/cgroup/ does not exist and thus [1] prevents the code from running.
And when it runs, the folder has entries.
