Actually LXDE and LXQt are just similar but pretty different desktop
environments and not every LXDE user may feel happy to be forced to use
LXQt, especially on old or small systems.

I think it should be safe to use GTK+3 build for lxsession, it's already
done for lxterminal long time ago. For other applications I wouldn't be
so sure as GTK+3 is still much more resource eager than GTK+2 is.
