[Pkg-lyx-devel] Bug#611970: Removal of ttf-lyx fonts from font selector

Hi all,

may I cast my vote for removing /all/ the ttf-lyx fonts from the font
selector? While e.g. the cmr10 font can be used for normal text, its
use often leads to problems due to its non-standard use of glyphs. At
least in the Ubuntu bug tracker there are quite a few bugs about
people using cmr10 (e.g. in a drawing, to use the same font as the
main font in a LaTeX document) and complaining about "weird"
characters appearing. Try something like x³ > x² and change the font
to cmr10 --> you'll get ¿ and a ffl ligature... The Latin Modern seem
to be better suited for use outside of LaTeX -- is it an option to use
them instead of Computer Modern?

Thanks for listening ;), best
  Marcel
