[Pkg-lyx-devel] LyX 2.0.8 in stable?

Dear Debian Maintainers,

We had a bug report on LyX lists from a wheezy user who is currently 
running LyX 2.0.3. While I understand why stable does not use 2.1.2, I 
am wondering whether debian policies would allow to upgrade stable to 
the latest LyX stable branch.

Is this not permitted, or is it rather that you prefer to concentrate 
your work on the testing branch?
