Thank you for your effort. I do agree that in principle the init script
should consider the value of MAILMAN_SITE_LIST. However, I don't think
your patch is acceptable. It adds a lot of non-trivial steps, which on
the one hand could break the script more easily, and on the other hand
create extra slowdown upon every boot.

I think only a small minority of users will actually change
MAILMAN_SITE_LIST. If we can easily support that, we will, but if it
needs to lead to this kind of complexity, I'd rather have that those few
users simply override the init script rathen than that every user is
bothered with slowdown and potential breakage.
