things; the next upload of Mailman to Debian will have the new version

For future reference, the best way to file this kind of suggestions or
patches is to file a severity wishlist bug in the Debian bug tracking
system for the mailman package. It ensures that the people currently
active on the package get it, and that it does not slip through the
cracks until explicitly acknowledged (it stays on the bug list). From
a Debian machine, you can use the "reportbug" program to help you file
a bug; else see http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting . For example a
good subject line (short one-line description) for this would have
been:

 mailman: README.Exim4.Debian: please add debug_print to routers and transport
