Hello everyone,

Both bugs I mentioned earlier are now fixed upstream.

Attached files are the accepted patches (with DEP-3 header), they all were
originally tested on mate-power-manager 1.8.0+dfsg1-2~bpo70+1
(Debian/wheezy-backports):

* 1005_make-idle-handler-always-use-configured-brightness.patch
  This fixes the symptom that AC backlight level was mistakenly applied when
  booted using DC power.

  This fixes the symptom that backlight level while on DC power doesn't
  follow the change of brightness slider in `mate-power-preferences`.

P.S. If one want to set the backlight level with no regard of power mode,
unchecking "Reduce backlight brightness" under Battery Power tab
of Power Management Preferences should now do the trick (with the patches
applied, backlight level would follow the brightness slider under
AC Power tab exactly).
