Dear Maintainer,
Please upload 1.17.0 as soon as possible as once we hit 2017-01-05: we
will be hit by "Soft" freeze which means no new packages, no re-entry
as well. although normal migrations will be allowed.

While we have no idea when MATE will release 1.18.0 it would be nice
if for the whole stretch cycle we have minimum gtk+3 issues.

Just my 2 paise.
