Bug#836352: Seem fixed, but...

Hi,

Last week I upgraded my laptop from Jessie to Stretch (MATE 1.8.1 to
1.16.1) and both bugs seem fixed. So I'm confused to learn that they've
been fixed upstream only in 1.16.5...

Please note that I don't have MATE installed anymore on the machine on
which I originally witnessed those bugs, so I can't tell if the bug is
really fixed. The main difference is the screen size (1680x1050 on the
Sid box, 1280x800 on the laptop), it probably doesn't matter but there
were so many parameters to trigger those bugs (maximized window,
presence of scroll bars...) that it may be relevant to note.
