Can an "end user" help?
Began _using_ computers as an E.E. student in early 60's.
Did a little assembler on 8085's in 70's.
Was always in hardware, but many jobs had me as engineering support for 
QA/QC.
I'm using Stretch with MATE (hence my interest).
I can dedicate a machine with disk space for 5 or 6 copies of stretch 
with room for any requested logs. {i.e. would willing able to rerun a 
specific test in an identical environment}
Being retired - I have time.
