Work cordination

Hi guys!

I have been trying to help to package mate. I was working on
mate-system-monitor but Vangelis was faster to me and did the work and
pushed all the changes, so I wasted my time working on that.

Is there a way for all the team to coordinate the work? To prevent me
from wasting my time. Maybe the wiki could be a good place for this.
