Thanks for your patches. You need to fine-tune them a little.

   o patch 0001: The version changes it ok, don't add
                "New upstream release" as changelog text.
   o patch 0002: ok
   o patch 0003: Drop completely (mate-control-center is a new
                 upload, so we just keep the "Initial release.  
(Closes: #XXXXXX)."
                 line.
   o patch 0004: ok
   o patch 0005: Does the line with "NOCONFIGURE=1 ./autogen.sh" (and  
the one above
                 start with a tab whitespace? It has to!
   o patch 0006: drop completely


Please use "git rebase -i" [1,2] for the fine-tuning plus some extra  
commits that you rebase into the other with some other "git rebase -i".
