Source: mate-desktop-environment
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
After running MATE desktop for a while (varying from a few hours to about 3 days) the desktop becomes unresponsive.
Top shows mate-settings-daemon taking about 88% of available RAM (on 8GB machine).
After sending signal 9 to mate-settings-daemon's PID, the daemon immediately respawns and starts gobbling RAM again.
At no time does the desktop become responsive again.
