The original upstream developer doesn't seem to have time for it so I've 
forked mon.  Send me patches for any other monitors that need it and I'll 
include them.

I'd be more inclined to drop the nntp monitor than patch it unless there's 
someone actually running a nntp server who wants to work on it.
