Hi,

If this has already been discussed before, please accept my apologies,
and thanks in advance for any pointers to the previous decisions or at
least discussions (sorry, I’m new to the team).

There are already some requests to deactivate the “welcome page” feature
that point to an external website on upgrade [1], and even to deactivate
new (internal) tab of some apps [2].

	1: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=657466
	2: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=693160#10

I’d like to know if there is a team “best practice” about that, and if
there is, have some packages already patched out this feature?

Regards

David

P.-S.: I just started to try and fix some RC bugs in the team maintained
packages, and am also starting to update some extensions to their latest
upstream. I’m happy to sponsor at least that kind of updates if needed.
