Would you be able to provide one?

I don't use GNOME myself, and I don't know how things may have changed
with GNOME 3, but my feeling is that it may not make a lot of sense to
provide a menu button to turn on an invisible background daemon. Perhaps
this is something that would better be started on login from the user's
session?
