Package: mpd
Version: 0.18.10-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
Maybe my problem is related to bug #742833, but since I'm running sysvinit, I
decided to file a seperate bug.
What happens is described in the title... I have mpd set to LSB defaults, but
when an mpd package upgrade gets pulled in, the upgrade disregards current
settings and mpd's service runlevels are all set to 'stop' causing the mpd init
script to be skipped on boot. The temporary fix is then to either start mpd
manually or set back to LSB defaults: # update-rc.d mpd defaults
I suspected this was the case on upgrade to 0.18.9-1, but with today's upgrade
to 0.18.10-1 I was able to 'confirm' the problem...
Before upgrade to 0.18.10-1:
$ find rc* -name "*mpd*"
rc0.d/K01mpd
rc1.d/K01mpd
rc2.d/S05mpd
rc3.d/S05mpd
rc4.d/S05mpd
rc5.d/S05mpd
rc6.d/K01mpd
After upgrade to 0.18.10-1:
$ find rc* -name "*mpd*"
rc0.d/K01mpd
rc1.d/K01mpd
rc2.d/K01mpd
rc3.d/K01mpd
rc4.d/K01mpd
rc5.d/K01mpd
rc6.d/K01mpd
I'm wondering if this is not a legitamate bug, and I'm just missing some latent
configuration somewhere causing mpd to be set to stop?...
