Bug#436753: vlc: VLC switches video card into invalid mode

When playing WMV files in VLC, it sometimes switches the video card into an
invalid mode. This could destroy the screen, luckily I have a liquid
crystal that just switches off... Requires (blind) reboot to "recover".
