well, since this turns out to be a non-issue (at least not a bug in 
ffmpeg itself, applications should not rely on the presence of a 
specific codec) how about uploading the package from experimental to 
unstable? We should not release lenny with a ffmpeg from March 2007.

Reinhard, will you be able to provide a patch to make the libraries 
spit out big fat debug warning messages in case a codec is selected 
that we disabled on purpose?
