That sounds interesting, but I fail to see how to detect that
environment reliably. IIUC, the goal is to have a unified source
package, so the build process has to look at its environment. Do you
want to parse the output of 'lsb_release' to detect the build machine?
If yes, please think about the case that you might want to (test-)build
a ffmpeg-free package for debian/main on an ubuntu laptop. [1]
