Bug#493822: libavcodec-dev: updating libavcodec causes mass removal of applications

you seem to be running Debian unstable/sid. I wonder why apt wants to 
install outdated versions of the ffmpeg-libs which are not even in 
testing anymore.

 > apt-get install libavformat-dev libavcodec-dev libavutil-dev

Have you run 'apt-get update' before?
What happens if you run 'apt-get -t unstable install libavformat-dev 
libavcodec-dev libavutil-dev'?
